Un aspecto significativo de marketing: el copywriter

¿Qué crees que hace en una empresa de marketing el copywriter? La mayoría de las veces este término se malinterpreta. Suena como si fuese alguien que trabaja con la normativa del Copywright para proteger el contenido. La verdad es que esta es una idea totalmente equivocada de lo que hace realmente.

¿Cuál es el papel del copywriter en una empresa de marketing y por qué es importante su función?

Un copywriter escribe contenido con un propósito publicitario o relacionado con algún aspecto del marketing. Esto nos puede hacer pensar que es lo mismo que el blogger o el gestor de contenidos, pero no es así. La diferencia es que el copywriter crea contenido para conseguir que la audiencia haga algo, que compre o lograr conversiones. Un blogger o gestor de contenidos diseña artículos con un valor diferenciador y un propósito relacionado con el marketing. Este propósito puede ser cualquier cosa y no está dirigido específicamente a ventas, a diferencia del copywriter.

El copywriter cumple una importante función dentro de su organización. Primero, es responsable de los anuncios, ya sean gráficos o escritos, que tengan como objetivo la venta. Esto incluye campañas de email marketing, anuncios online, comunicados de prensa y sales letter.

Además, el papel del copywriter es crucial porque el contenido que crea es lo primero que el cliente percibe de la compañía. De hecho, puede ser fundamental para que un cliente forme su opinión de la empresa, que es altamente importante para conseguir una buena reputación. Si crees que es un trabajo fácil, piénsalo dos veces, puesto que el copywriter tiene que crear contenido de manera que produzca una respuesta emocional al cliente que se traduzca a su vez en una compra.

Aunque el copywriting en marketing no es muy conocido, muchas personas que luego han triunfado empezaron como copywriters. Un ejemplo es Lawrence Kasdan, nacido en el año 1949 y ahora conocido como un productor de cine muy famoso.  Antes de convertirse en productor fue el copywriter de una empresa de publicidad y recibió premios por el desarrollo de su trabajo. Hoy se le conoce por sus grandes guiones y el haber dirigido películas. Escribió el guión de la película El Guardaespaldas y lo vendió a Warner Bros, así como los de la trilogía de La Guerra de las Galaxias y el de Gran Canyon.

Secondly, the performance of the copywriter is crucial because the content that is being created is mostly the first item a client perceives about the company. So in fact, this can be crucial for a client to form their opinion about the company, which is important for the company to build a good reputation. If you think this is an easy job, think twice, since the copywriter needs to create content in such a way that it will produce an emotional response at the client which will result in purchase.
Although copywriting in marketing is not a familiar term to a lot of people, many successful people today started their careers as copywriters. An example is Lawrence Kasdan, born in 1949 and now a successful film producer. Before he became a successful film creator he was a copywriter for an advertising company and even received an award for this function. Now he is well-known for his great movie scripts and directing. He wrote the script for ‘The Bodyguard’ and sold it to Warner Bros, wrote the screenplay for the ‘Starwars Trilogy’ and ‘Grand Canyon’.
